We apply the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spain's Organic Law 3/2018 on the Protection of Personal Data and the Guarantee of Digital Rights. This site has no forms, user accounts or newsletters: we only process the data described on this page.
Browsing statistics
We use Plausible, on our own instance at stats.ethosfolio.com, hosted in the European Union, to see page views, traffic sources and general use of the site, with statistics on device, browser and approximate location derived from the connection. Plausible does not use cookies or persistent identifiers: to count unique visitors it temporarily combines the IP address and the browser with a key that changes every day; the IP address is not stored.
Like any website, the server and the content delivery network that protects it log technical connection data, such as the IP address, for security and to run the service.
Link clicks
Using the same system, and also without cookies, we count some clicks: links on tour and accommodation cards (which card and from which page) and links that lead to other websites (the destination address). This tells us which pages are useful and how many visits we send to each provider.
When you click a link to a booking platform such as GetYourGuide, Civitatis or Booking.com, you leave this site. From then on, that platform's privacy and cookie terms apply, and it may record that you came from this guide and, if the link is an affiliate link, credit us with a possible commission. We do not receive your personal details or the details of your booking. More detail in how this guide is funded.
If you email us
The only way to contact us is by email. If you write to [email protected], you share your address and your message with us, and we use them only to reply or to correct the guide if you tell us about a mistake. Emailing us does not sign you up to any marketing. We do not handle bookings: for any question about a tour or a place to stay, contact the provider.
Legal basis, recipients and retention
- Emails you send us: the legal basis is your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Statistics and click counting: our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used and improving its content (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The recipients are the providers of technical services: the site's hosting provider; Cloudflare, which acts as a content delivery and protection network and forwards email addressed to [email protected] to our mailbox; and the provider of that mailbox. Your own email provider applies its terms to the message you send. Data is not sold or passed on for advertising purposes.
The site's server and the Plausible instance are in the European Union. Cloudflare may process some data outside it, including in the United States, depending on the service.
We keep emails for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and, after that, for as long as applicable legal obligations require.
Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and, where applicable, portability by writing to [email protected]. You can also seek information from, or lodge a complaint with, the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos).
